The U.S. team arrival into San Jose last night went as smooth as could be expected - except for some bumpy moments at take off and landing. The team charter touched down around 6 p.m. local time (8 p.m. ET. With all the other scheduled international flights completed, it was smooth sailing through immigration control and customs since the team at that point were the only passengers in that part of the airport. Outside, a total of about 250 Costa Rican fans and journalists waited to 'greet' the U.S. team. Amidst the songs and chants, there's seemed to be a mention or two about snow. The guys pretty much took it all in stride and even grabbed some photos and videos.
Two MNT fans braved the crowd to show their support and were rewarded with high fives from several members of the team, including captain Clint Dempsey. Yes, there may have been a 'huevo' or two tossed at the bus, but overall everything was great as the group exited the terminal. Many thanks to the U.S. Embassy for their support.
