We hear that the match in Augsburg is for all intents and purposes a sell-out. That means the USA will be playing in front of a crowd of more than 25,000 fans (it could seen more as we've seen a capacity listed for the new venue at around 31,000 as well). If the Germans pack more than 27,000 into the stadium, it will be the fourth largest crowd to ever watch the U.S. outside of the USA in a non-World Cup or Olympic match. (It would rank about 12th or 13th if you count WWCs and Olympics). Either way, the atmosphere should be electric as the Germans play their first match since winning the 2009 European Women's Championships in September. The fans will definitely be in a celebratory mood. Needless to say, the German player on the poster below (we think its Simone Laudehr) looks ready to play. You might remember her as the goal scorer of the second German goal in the 2007 FIFA World Cup Final.
