The 2011 African Youth Championship has been moved from Libya to South Africa in the wake of political unrest in the Libyan region.
Originally scheduled to kick off this weekend, the tournament, which will send four teams to the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia, is now set for April 17-May 2.
Similar to the CONCACAF set up, the four teams that reach the tournament semifinals will book their tickets to the World Cup. The African teams will be the last to qualify for Colombia.
The draw for the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup is set for April 27 at the Julio Cesar Turbay Ayala Convention Centre in Cartagena.
