The ussoccer.com photographers are out in full force here at the 2009 Development Academy Winter Showcase. The YNT Blog caught up with them and got some of their best shots to share with you here. They showcase the scenic nature of the Reach 11 Sports Complex on the outskirts of Phoenix and will give you a better feel for the environment here.
There are 154 Development Academy clubs here at the Showcase with 234 matches to be played over the course of the long weekend.
The 33-acre complex first opened in 2007 and contains 18 soccer pitches, 10 of those equipped with lights. There are also two full baseball fields in the complex which are sponsored by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
There are 155 referees here at the Showcase hailing from 34 different states.
More than 200 college scouts are in attendance along with numerous members of the Development Academy scouting network. Some of the scouts include the likes of former Men's National Team standout Thomas Dooley pictured below.
