It's a huge week for MNT players in the CONCACAF Champions League as the group winners who will advance to the knockout phase are close to being decided.
Brad Davis and the Houston Dynamo has a chance to move into first place in Group 1 with a win against W Connection from Trinidad. Sitting on four points from its first two matches, Houston hosts Wednesday night at BBVA Compass Stadium (8 p.m. ET, Fox Sports 2). A victory would mean a draw in the final group game away to current group leaders Aribe United would be sufficient to advance.
Landon Donovan and Omar Gonzalez are part of the LA Galaxy squad that needs only a draw at Cartigines in Costa Rica to secure the top spot in Group 8. The teams will face off at Estadio Nacional - site of the USA's 3-1 loss to Costa Rica in World Cup Qualifying - this Wednesday (10 p.m. ET, Fox Soccer Plus). Donovan sat out the 1-1 draw against Seattle this past Saturday at StubHub Center with an ankle injury.
On Thursday, Club Tijuana hosts CD Victoria of Honduras (10 p.m. ET, Univision Deportes). The Xolos are a point away from capturing Group 7 and facing a side already eliminated from contention. In addition to Edgar Castillo and Joe Corona being available, the match could see the debut of Herculez Gomez for his new club. The striker has been sidelined for seven weeks with a knee injury since moving to Tijuana, and played 45 minutes in a reserve match last Friday.
