There was no question the U.S. team was a the correct hotel.
No rain today for the USA in Padova, Italy, but a cool, crisp winter day was perfect for training...or a stroll around the charming town to sit at a cafe and sip a wonderfully prepared Cappuccino, which is honestly like a work of art in Italy. The players actually had a pretty busy day. Training in the morning, some light weights in the afternoon and dinner out in the evening. Is it just us, or does the pizza just taste better in Italy?
Lauren Cheney, Amy Rodriguez and Heather O'Reilly warm up
It's Wednesday already, which means just two more days of training (Friday will be at Stadio Euganeo), and then the crucial first leg of this series to get into the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup. In case you didn't know, away goals count double if the aggregate goals are tied at the end of the series, making a good U.S. performance even more critical on Saturday. You can see the game live on ESPN3.com at 10:30 a.m. ET. You have to sign up, so we suggest you do that well in advance to avoid any technical snafus.
