Holden is fit for dutyU.S. fans will be thrilled tonight when Stuart Holden resumes first team football for the first time in more than six months after recovering from injury. Holden is penciled in to the starting lineup for Bolton's Carling Cup match at Aston Villa.
"I have been involved in a few reserve games and they have been good for fitness and for getting back into the swing of things but there's nothing like putting on the shirt and playing in a competitive match," Holden told Bolton's official website. "This has been the goal all along. I've put a lot of time and effort in the gym and tomorrow is sure to be a good test for me."
While enjoying a breakout season for Bolton last year, Holden suffered a knee injury after being on the receiving end of a bad tackle March 19 from Manchester United's Jonny Evans. He was sidelined for the entire summer, missing out on the 2011 Gold Cup.
