U-20 MNT forward Danny Garcia is the 10th U-20 MNT player on the U-20 World Cup roster to sign with an MLS team.
As the U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team nears the start of the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey, the group sees another familiar pattern with one of its own signing with a Major League Soccer team.
Garcia officially signed a homegrown contract with FC Dallas on Tuesday, becoming the 10th player on the USA’s 21-player U-20 World Cup roster to go pro with an MLS side. Garcia is coming off his freshman season with North Carolina and now joins U-20 teammate Kellyn Acosta with FCD.
Garcia and Acosta were teammates on the FC Dallas U-17/18 Development Academy team, winning the championship in 2011-12 and finishing runner-up to Pateadores in 2010-11.
