After the deluge of rain that hit the U.S. practice yesterday, the team trained under blue skies this afternoon on a day so clear that you could see the mountains above Los Angeles, which trust us, is quite rare. The team went through a focused and intense two-hour training before a day off tomorrow. The team finished today's practice with a short 11 v. 11 scrimmage that was highlighted by a tremendous far post cross from Heather O'Reilly to Abby Wambach, who looped her header back across the goal and into the far post side netting. The squad returns to the field on Thursday to prepare for scrimmages on Friday and Sunday, but the weather report is not cheery. There may be rain in this training camp's future. A reminder FYI: The U.S. team won't be playing a match until next February at the Algarve Cup, but there will be an extensive training camp in January to get ready for the team's annual trek to Portugal.
