They say variety is the spice of life. If that's true, the schedule for Group C has definitely been spicy.
The group began in the Pacific Northwest on the artifical turf, where the U.S. breezed to 6-1 win against Belize. Four days later it was the altitude and the backdrop of the Wasatch Mountains at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah, and again the United States lit the scoreboard, notching four more against Cuba. The next morning it was a cross-country flight to Hartford, where the four teams were met with a wall heat and humidity in advance of tomorrow night's games at Rentschler Field on one day less rest.
After the group phase is complete, the advancing teams from here will have five days before the quarterfinals in Baltimore.
