The team spent an hour Thursday afternoon at Tehelné Pole (literally means 'brickfield), the national stadium of Slovakia and site of Saturdya's match. Original construction began in 1939 during the Nazi occupation, and was completed in 1942. The historic stadium is set to be demolished in February to give way to a new ground, meaning the USA's first ever visit to Slovakia will also mark the final international match at the storied field.
The earlier bad weather of the week passed, and the conditions were cool and pleasant. The field is a little soft and chewed up from the rain, but with three straight days of clear skies, officials are optimistic. Training consisted of the normal pre-match day rituals of possession games, shadow work, and re-starts. No injuries from the U.S. camp, so all 22 players are available for selection.
