Brazil and Argentina will join Uruguay (who qualified on Monday) at the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Brazil defeated Ecuador 1-0 to secure its place in Colombia, while Argentina qualified despite a loss on Wednesday to Uruguay. Because Chile and Ecuador play each other on the final match day of the CONMEBLO U-20 Championship, Argentina can finish no lower than fourth.
Still to be determined on Saturday is the fourth and final ticket to Colombia, which be decided in a win-and-you’re-in contest between Ecuador and Chile.
Uruguay, who currently leads the group with 10 points, has also secured a place at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, as the top two finishers in this competition also qualify for that event. The second team that will go to London is still up for grabs.
