Things just keeping getting tougher for goalkeepers. The match balls continue to be more active and fly faster, attackers are stronger and smarter, and now the U-23 coaching staff has added a new challenge: the absence of light.
OK, it was just for one session and it wasn't actually planned that way, but it still made the training interesting. As it happened last night, the goalkeepers' warmup was extended and the sun fell rapidly, so instead of switching to a lit field they just soldiered on. According to U.S. U-23 assistant coach Eric Yamamoto, it made the distribution exercise "interesting." Looking forward to hearing what word the goalkeepers would use ...
