The duo moved to Norway to play for Molde FK after growing up together in the Derby County Wolves program. They both moved over to Norway in lieu of attending college - Gatt turns 20 in August and Cunningham signed his professional contract the day he turned 18 in January.
"It's definitely hard, and I expected it to be hard," Cunningham said by phone from Norway.
As the lone Americans on the team, it is no surprise that Gatt and Cunningham have become close friends. They live in separate apartment buildings, just a 30-second walk from each other. They go to movies in their free time and share payments on a car they leased together. It took some time, but they're finally used to converting U.S. dollars to the Norwegian krone. Gatt adopted a dog; Cunningham took in a cat. He named her Nelly.
