WNT Oct 5, 2010
The U.S. WNT got its first look at PPL Park today and what a great soccer venue it is. If you've ever been in some of the small stadiums across Europe, this really has that feel, and that fact that more and more of these stadiums are being built in America is a foundation on which our professional game can certainly continue to grow. The U.S. team ran through an hour training that featured basically a warm-up, some passing patterns and then 11 v. 11 scrimmaging. Unfortunately, the weather took a bit of a shine off it as a steady rain pelted the U.S. players during its practice, but now that it's dried off a bit, it could be perfectly crisp and cool tomorrow for the USA-China being televised live on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. ET. You can also watch the game on ESPN3.com, and follow along on ussoccer.com's MatchTracker and via the WNT Twitter account. Here are some pics from stadium training today.
