U.S. MNT Defender Chris Albright Out 3-6 Weeks with Torn Meniscus

CARSON, Calif. (Jan. 16, 2006) - U.S. MNT defender Chris Albright will be sidelined 3-6 weeks after exploratory surgery this morning revealed a lateral meniscus tear in his left knee.  The tear was repaired by U.S. National Team doctor Bert Mandelbaum in Los Angeles.

The 27-year-old defender suffered the injury Jan. 5 during the team's first full day of training camp, and an initial MRI last week revealed no damage.

The U.S. will also be without midfielder Pablo Mastroeni in the immediate future, after he partially tore his quad on Jan. 10.
