CHICAGO (Wednesday, October 24, 2001) - Questions about the Advanced State Course can be referred to Alfred Kleinaitis at

The National Program for Referee Development is pleased to announce that it will conduct a series of training sessions for State-Level Referees in 2002. The program is designed to be step 1 in the preparation of future National Referees.

The National Program for Referee Development will arrange for the instructors to conduct the course at a location of your choice. All the expenses for the instructors will be the responsibility of the United States Soccer Federation National Program for Referee Development. The two-day course will be conducted on Saturday and Sunday.

The hosting state association will be responsible to arrange for and pay for the facility/meeting rooms, audio/visual equipment, local printing or copying of course handouts and any refreshments that they wish to provide for the referees.

These courses will be scheduled equitably between the four regions on a first come first serve basis. To request a course to be scheduled for your state association, send a letter addressed to:

Advanced State Referee Course
United States Soccer Federation, Inc.
