What’s it going to be? Door number one, door number two, or door number THREE?!? Okay, so this section has less to do with “Let’s Make A Deal” and more to do with the Multiple Choice section of an SAT test. “In 3’s” peeks inside the head of a select National Team player as they pick one of three choices for 20-something questions about personal tastes and pop culture.

After starring for both the U-17, U-20 and U-23 Youth National Teams, the speedy 6’1” midfielder/forward has finally gotten a call-up to compete in camp alongside fellow Under-17 MNT superstar alumni like Landon, Bobby and Beas.  After three years of limited action in MLS due to various U-17 demands and injuries, EJ is having a breakout 2004 season, scoring 11 goals and adding three assists to do his part in driving Dallas out of its cellar-dwelling doldrums.

Misc:
Best big city in the U.S.: LA, NYC or Chicago?
“NYC.  There's always something to do in New York.  It's an easy place to fit into.  I love fashion, and there's a ton of it there.  And you never know who you're going to run into.”

Best city you've lived in: Daytona Beach, Fla., Bradenton, Fla., Dallas, Texas?
“Dallas is the best.  When I went to the Dallas Cup, I remember being there for a long time and not wanting to leave.  When I got drafted by Dallas, it was cool to get back to a place that I'd been to and never expected to come back to.”

Best reason for someone who's not from Daytona to go to Daytona: Spring Break parties, NASCAR or surfing?
“Spring Break.  One walk on the beach explains it all.  People from all over come to Daytona to have a good time.”

Best leisure footwear: flip-flop, runners or sneakers?
Sneakers. (They’re) more comfortable.”

Undergarment of choice: Boxers, boxer-briefs or tighty-whiteys?
“Boxers.  I like to be loose and comfortable.”

Sports:
Favorite non-soccer sport: Baseball, Basketball or Football?
“Football.  It's the other sport I played growing up.  I played for six years, including freshman and sophomore year in high school, and then I went to Bradenton.  I was a wide receiver. That's where I get my speed from.”

Best sports read: Sports Illustrated, ESPN The Magazine or The Dallas Morning News?
“I get my sports news from People!”

Favorite Dallas team beside the Burn: Cowboys, Mavericks or Stars (NHL)?
Cowboys, dog.  I'm a fan of Roy Williams.  I've been to his house a couple times.”

Favorite Dallas Maverick: Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash or Michael Finley?
“Would've been Steve, but now it's Dirk, 'cause he's clutch.  He hits the big shots when you need him.”

Best 80’s basketball star: Bird, Dr. J or Magic?
Dr. J, man.  Not even a question.”

Music:
Best rapper-turned-actor: DMX, Eminem or Ice Cube?
“Ooh, that's a good one.  Eminem.  ‘8-Mile’ was good, especially the ... romantic scenes.”

Worst singer-turned-actress: Britney, Madonna or Mariah?
Britney.  Whatever that movie was, it wasn't good.”

Best rap/hip-hop producer: Dr. Dre, Timbaland or the Neptunes?
Timbaland.  He's produced the Missy Elliotts, the Aliyah's and some other good acts.”

Best rap style: West coast (Dre, Snoop), Midwest (Nelly, Eminem) or East Coast (Jay-Z, DMX)?
“I have to say East Coast.  Those two keep it real.  They don't rap about what they have.  They rap about where they have been.  Those two are humble rappers.”

TV/Leisure:
Best guy mag: Maxim, FHM or Details?
Maxim.  It has the best scenery.”

Best hip hop mag: Vibe, Source or XXL?
“Damn, that's a hard one.  They're all the same.”

Best SportsCenter anchor: Kenny Mayne, Dan Patrick or Stuart Scott?
“You got me.  I don't watch ‘SportsCenter.’”

Best video game system: Xbox, PS2 or GameCube?

“Watching TV  I watch BET all day long.”

“Asian.  Vietnamese is my favorite.  I like the Kapow (or Kung Pao) chicken.  It has a little spice to it.”

Best late-night food: burrito, slice or gyro?
“Wouldn't know (laughs).  But if I had to, it'd be a fat burrito.”

Best fast food stop: McDonald’s, Taco Bell or KFC?
KFC.  I like to throw down a two piece - thigh and a leg - with mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese.”

Best American-invented condiment: ketchup, ranch dressing or spray imitation butter?
“Ketchup.  You can't go wrong with ketchup.  You can put it on anything - rice, eggs, whatever.  It makes everything taste better.”
