36 Player Training Camp Underway as U18 MNT Train at The HDC


CHICAGO (Dec. 26, 2009) – U.S. U-18 MNT head coach Mike Matkovich is currently leading 36 players born in 1993 at a week-long training camp at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. Of the players in camp, 32 represent Development Academy clubs, including 20 who participated with Development Academy Select Teams at the 2009 Winter Showcase.

Matkovich and his staff will lead the players through two training sessions per day, with scrimmages against local men's teams spread throughout the week before players depart on Jan. 3. All 36 players are age-eligible for both the 2011 and 2013 FIFA Under-20 World Cups.
