OPTI-FREE Lens Care Products and United States Soccer Federation Team Up to Deliver Optimum Performance


FORT WORTH, Texas (Wednesday, March 29, 2000) - Alcon Laboratories, manufacturer of OPTI-FREE lens care products, is pleased to announce its 2000 sponsorship of the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), the preeminent organization dedicated to grow the sport of soccer. As the "Official Lens Care Brand of the USSF," Alcon will sponsor and have a presence at United States Men's and Women's National Team matches leading up to the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.

The Optimum Performance promotion includes a national sweepstakes and a free soccer gear offer with the purchase of OPTI-FREE EXPRESS or SUPRACLENS, as well as informational kiosks for OPTI-FREE EXPRESS at USSF soccer matches throughout the summer.

Displays and specially-marked packages of OPTI-FREE EXPRESS Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution and SUPRACLENS Daily Protein Remover will be in select mass merchandise, supermarket, and drug retail outlets in April. With a proof of purchase and store receipt for OPTI-FREE EXPRESS or SUPRACLENS, fans can choose from their choice of USSF gear, including a regulation size Optimum Performance soccer ball, gym bag or child-size backpack. This promotion ends December 29, 2000.

On May 21 and July 30 the Optimum Performance sweepstakes will be featured in free standing inserts in newspapers nationwide. There is no purchase necessary and entrants will be eligible to win a 2000 Chevrolet Venture, a Dell computer and soccer memorabilia autographed by members of last year's champion Women's World Cup team.
