Ching Replaces Wolff on Roster for Sweden Friendly
CHICAGO (August 17, 2007) — U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Bob Bradley has announced that Brian Ching will be called in to replace Josh Wolff in a swap of forwards for the Aug. 22 friendly vs. Sweden.
Wednesday’s match will be played in the city of Göteborg at Ullevi Stadium and will be broadcast live at 2:30 p.m. ET on Fox Soccer Channel and Galavision (and will be shown at 2:30 p.m. PT tape delayed on the Galavision west feed). Fans can also follow the match live via ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker.
Wolff, who plays with 1860 Munich and was looking forward to his first appearance with the U.S. since the 2006 FIFA World Cup, has been excused from the team for personal reasons.
Ching, who has five appearances with a goal and two assists in 2007, will travel to Sweden to join his U.S. teammates following the Houston Dynamo’s Sunday evening match vs. FC Dallas.
The 13th member of the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup roster to be named for the Sweden trip, Ching was also a member of the 2006 FIFA World Cup team and has made 25 career appearances with five goals.
