CHICAGO (Monday, April 2, 2001) - The U.S. Under-19 Women's National Team spent the last two weeks in Chula Vista competing in the WUSA Preseason Tournament at the ARCO Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. The U.S. Under-19 defense continued its fine play of 2001, only allowing two goals in three matches. The USA fell to the Boston Breakers 1-0 on March 25, beat the New York Power 1-0 (March 28) and fell to the Bay Area CyberRays 1-0 (March 31). Kristin Weiss scored the winner for the U.S. against the Power, with Megan Kakadelas tallying the assist. The Under-19 Women finished an interregional event in Las Vegas in February allowing only two goals in four games, and after the WUSA tournament are now allowing a mere 0.57 goals a game.
