Chicago, MetroStars, Miami & Los Angeles Post Wins

CHICAGO (Saturday, April 28, 2001) - The Chicago Fire and Los Angeles Galaxy each posted victories in MLS action this weekend, as did the Miami Fusion and NY/NJ MetroStars. Forward Josh Wolff notched his second goal of the season as the Fire remained in first-place in the MLS Central Division standing after downing the Tampa Bay Mutiny 1-0 at Raymond James Stadium. The Galaxy recorded their second straight victory by knocking off their Western Division rival the Colorado Rapids 3-2 at Mile High Stadium. Forward Alex Pineda Chacon's fifth goal led the Eastern Division leading Miami Fusion to a 1-0 victory over winless New England Revolution at Lockhart Stadium, while the MetroStars outlasted Dallas 3-2 at Giants Stadium. In Saturday's final match, the Western Division leaders Kansas City battled San Jose to the first scoreless draw of the season.
