U.S. WNT's Path Through Summer Olympics to be Featured Live on NBC Networks

The U.S. will play Greece in one of the opening events of the Athens Olympics on Wednesday, August 11, two days before the Games officially kick off. The match will be preceded by an opening ceremony for the women’s soccer tournament, and will be broadcast live on MSNBC at 11 a.m. ET and on a delay on Telemundo at approximately 6 p.m. ET. The Telemundo broadcast will be part of seven hours of soccer coverage on that day, following two men’s soccer matches.
The second game for the U.S. women in the first round, a tough match-up against Brazil, will be televised live on Saturday, August 14 at 11 a.m. ET on CNBC as part of the network’s 14 hours of Olympic coverage that day. The USA will then wrap up their first round matches on Tuesday, August 17 against Australia live at 11 a.m. ET from Thessaloniki on MSNBC.
Should the U.S. advance out of their group to the quarterfinals, that match will be seen live on either MSNBC and Telemundo on August 20. Both semifinal match-ups will also be broadcast live on MSNBC and Telemundo, and the gold medal match will be featured live on NBC on August 26.
The NBC Network’s 24-hour coverage will include action from all 28 Summer Olympic sports for the first time, with J.P. Dellacamera serving as the network's soccer voice. Over the 17 days of the Athens Games, the networks of NBC will average more than 70 hours of Olympic coverage per day, and over 1,210 hours overall.
