CHICAGO (March 21, 2011) â€“ U.S. Soccerâ€™s Coaching Education Department will conduct a Coaching Symposium on April 23-24, 2011 in conjunction with the U.S. U-17 Womenâ€™s National Team and U.S. U-20 Womenâ€™s National Team Camps at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.Â
â€œThe focus of this symposium is to watch, interact and learn from our youth national team staff,â€ said Director of Coaching Education Dave Chesler who will oversee the two-day symposium. â€œThis is a great opportunity to interact with our national coaching staff from two different age groups and watch some of the best youth players in the country.â€
Registered coaches will have the opportunity to observe training sessions and speak with the coaching staff. Coaches will learn more about the selection process and the goals that were set for the week for the team and for individual players.
Coaches will also have the opportunity to attend a Major League Soccer match between Chivas USA and the Columbus Crew scheduled for Saturday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m. PT.
Cost for the symposium is $150 for active U.S. Soccer CoachesNet members and $160 for non-members. Registration includes two days of educational presentations and discussions, training, a ticket to an MLS game, lunch, a personalized symposium packet and a U.S. Soccer CoachesNet scouting and training notebook. Registration is open to all coaches.
U.S. Soccer â€œAâ€ licensed coaches will earn two â€œContinuing Education Unitsâ€ for attending this symposium.
