U.S. Soccer Announces Winter National Coaching School Locations, Fall “C” Re-test Locations and International Workshop Dates

Coaching Schools Provide Opportunity to Earn a Nationally Recognized License; Current CoachesNet Members Get Priority Registration Starting Today

CHICAGO (Sept. 12, 2011) — U.S. Soccer’s Coaching Department will conduct National Coaching Schools for “A”, “B”, “C” and Goalkeeping License Courses in January in Arizona, California and Florida. Registration for each course will open on Wednesday, Sept. 14, after a pre-registration period for active members of CoachesNet, U.S. Soccer’s official coaches club. Current CoachesNet members will have the first opportunity to register for a winter course beginning today.

The National “A,” “B” and “C” License courses will be offered at IMG Academies in Bradenton, Fla., and Grande Sports World in Casa Grande, Ariz., from Jan. 2-10, 2012. The National Goalkeeping License course will run Jan. 22-29, 2012 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. “A” license coaches may renew their license by attending and completing the National Goalkeeping course.

U.S. Soccer will also run two “A” license renewal courses from Jan. 3-8 for current “A” license coaches looking to renew their license. Coaches can register to take the course at The Home Depot Center or at IMG Academies. The “A” Audit course is separate from the “A” License course and focuses on the latest trends in soccer through guest lecturers and incorporating U.S. National Teams.

In addition to the “A” renewal courses, coaches will have an opportunity to take part in the CoachesNet international workshop program. The international workshop program features coaching trips throughout the world, including past trips to Argentina, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands. The dates have been tentatively set for March 17-24, 2012. The release of the final dates, location, and registration details will be announced soon. “A” license coaches may renew their license by attending the international workshop and the National Goalkeeping course.

Participants at U.S. Soccer’s National Coaching Schools will have an opportunity to earn a nationally recognized license from U.S. Soccer, a member of Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), and the governing body of soccer in all its forms in the United States.

Coaches will interact with the nation’s top-level instructors, including current and former national team, professional and international coaches. The licensing programs are focused on teaching soccer coaches up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge to provide coaches with the ability to improve the every day training environment for elite players and help them fulfill their potential as international, professional, collegiate or youth soccer players.
