U-17 MNT Opens Copa Macae With Win Against Flamengo

MACAE, Brazil (July 18, 2009) -- The U.S. U-17 Men's National Team opened the 2009 Copa Macae tournament in Brazil with a 2-1 win against Flamengo. Jack McInerney and Luis Gil scored on either side of halftime to lift the Americans to victory.

The team will have a quick turnaround before its game against Artsul tomorrow, July 19 as Wilmer Cabrera's squad continues preparations for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup in Nigeria.
