U.S. U-20 MNT Plays to Scoreless Draw with Senegal


AKERSLOOT, Netherlands (May 18, 2010) -- The U.S. U-20 Men's National Team played to a scoreless draw in a friendly against Senegal in the Netherlands. The match was the first of two friendlies scheduled for the Americans ahead of the International Cor Groenewegan Tournament.

Cody Cropper is credited with five saves in the shutout, playing behind a back line that included Kofi Sarkodie, Chad Barson, Zarek Valentin (who was replaced by Perry Kitchen just before halftime to receive stitches) and Bryan de le Fuente. In total, U.S. head coach Thomas Rongen used seven substitutions during the course of the match.

Next up for Rongen's side is a friendly against Korea Republic on Thursday, ahead of the tournament proper.
