Maurice Edu Unavailable for the June 3 Game against Costa Rica

CHICAGO (May 31, 2009) - Maurice Edu will miss out on the U.S. Men's National Team's World Cup Qualifier with Costa Rica after remaining in Glasgow to receive further evaluation on the knee injury he suffered in Rangers final league match on May 24 against Dundee.

Edu will not travel to Miami today as scheduled and will not be available for Wednesday's match against Costa Rica. His status for the remaining games this summer will be determined based on the results of his examination. No decision has been made on whether there will be a replacement added to the roster.

The U.S. Men's National Team will travel to Costa Rica tomorrow ahead of Wednesday's World Cup Qualifier with Costa Rica at Estadio Saprissa. Coverage begins at 7:30 p.m, MT on June 3 on the ESPN Networks and Galavision.
