Heinrichs Names 20 Players to Face Ireland in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Saturday

CHICAGO (Friday, June 13, 2003) - U.S. Women's National Team head coach April Heinrichs has named the 20-woman roster that will face Ireland tomorrow at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah.  The match, which is the second part of a doubleheader with the Utah Blitzz of the USL's Pro Select League, will kickoff at 7 p.m. MT (9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT) and will be televised live on ESPN2.

Tickets ranging in price levels from $16 to $37 are on sale at Ticketmaster.com, by phone at 801-325-SEAT (7328), or at all Ticketmaster outlets and at the Rice-Eccles Stadium Box Office, which is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  More than 15,000 tickets have already been sold.

The game is the second-to-last match for the U.S. women before Heinrichs chooses the 2003 Women's World Cup Team.  Heinrichs, who had a total of 23 players in Utah, released defender Kylie Bivens, goalkeeper Jaime Pagliarulo and midfielder Lindsay Tarpley from the roster.  Bivens (Atlanta Beat) and Pagliarulo (San Diego Spirit) will be available for their WUSA matches this weekend.  Tarpley is a rising sophomore at UNC.

Temperatures are forecast to soar into the low-90s tomorrow, but should be considerably cooler for the 7 p.m. kickoff on the FieldTurf surface at Rice-Eccles Stadium, home to the University of Utah football team.  It will be the first-ever game for the U.S. women on an artificial surface.
