U.S. Beach Soccer Defeats Canada, 3-0, in CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying
PUNTARENAS, Costa Rica (September 13, 2006) - The U.S. Beach Soccer team defeated Canada, 3-0, in the first game of the CONCACAF qualifying tournament for the 2006 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
Brendon Taguinod scored the firs goal for the U.S. in the first period off a throw in from Zak Ibsen. Taguinod received the ball, faked out his defender and put it past the Canadian 'keeper.
The other two goals came in the third period. First Yuri Moralez took possession around midfield, got past his defender and sent a rocket into the net. Then, the tables turned as Taguinod assisted Ibsen, who fired a shot into the far low corner of the net from close range.
The USA will next face Jamaica on Sept. 14.
