Group Tickets Now on Sale for USA's World Cup Send-off Matches on Sept. 1 & 7
CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, August 7, 2003) – U.S. Soccer and the Los Angeles Galaxy announced today that group tickets are now available for a unique Labor Day friendly between the U.S. Women’s National Team and Costa Rica at The Home Depot Center on Monday, September 1 [Click here for complete ticket information].
The U.S. Women’s National Team match, which will be televised live on ESPN at 8 p.m. PT, will be one of two special send-off matches played prior to the FIFA Women’s World Cup USA 2003. The Women’s World Cup preview match will also mark the first time that any of U.S. Soccer’s National Teams will play an international game at the state-of-the-art new stadium.

USA-Costa Rica discount tickets, which are available for groups of 20 or more, can be purchased by contacting the L.A. Galaxy at 1-877-3GALAXY. Group tickets are available in a wide range of prices including: Midfield - $55, Sidelines - $35, Primary Corners - $28, Secondary Corners - $24 and Endlines - $20.
The match is also still available for a limited time as part of the Home Depot Center venue series package (which also includes all six FIFA Women's World Cup USA 2003 matches at the Home Depot Center) for the FIFA Women’s World Cup USA 2003.
Pending availability, individual tickets for the September 1 game in Los Angeles will go on sale in mid-August through Ticketmaster and online at ussoccer.com.
The USA has faced Costa Rica twice in its history, both times in CONCACAF Gold Cup tournaments, winning 8-0 in 2000 and 7-0 last November in Seattle, Wash., in the match that qualified the USA for FIFA Women’s World Cup 2003.
Six days later, it's "Breakfast with Brandi," as the U.S. Women take on Mexico at Spartan Stadium in San Jose, Calif., at 10 a.m. PT live on ESPN. Fans will have the rare opportunity to see the U.S. team in their very last game before the FIFA Women's World Cup USA 2003 later that month. As a bonus, the match is the first game of a doubleheader that also features an MLS match between the San Jose Earthquakes and New England Revolution at 12:30 p.m.
Group discount tickets, which are available to groups of 20 or more, are priced at $25 for East Sideline and $15 for Endline, a savings of $5 per ticket and no per-ticket convenience charge. To order group discount tickets, call 408-985-GOAL (4625).
Individual advance tickets are priced at the following levels: VIP Midfield - $50, West Sidelines - $40, East Sidelines and West Corners - $30, East Corners and Endlines - $20.
