U.S. U-17 Women's National Team Begins New Cycle with Camp and Matches Against Germany


CHICAGO (Jan. 22, 2013) – The U.S. Under-17 Women’s National Team will open its new cycle with a training camp running from Jan. 26-Feb. 2 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

Players born on or after Jan. 1, 1997, are age-eligible for the next FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup to be held in Costa Rica, and U.S. Soccer Director of Development Jill Ellis has called in 26 players, with 22 born in 1997 and four in 1998.

The young U.S. team will be tested right away as the squad will take on the Germany U-17 Women’s National Team on Tuesday, Jan. 29 (kickoff at 4 p.m. PT) and Friday, Feb. 1 (kickoff at 2 p.m. PT). Both of these youth international matches are open to the public with free admission.
