U.S. U-17 MNT Set to Travel to Madrid Spain


The U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team has arrived in Madrid, Spain, for 12 days of training at the Spanish FA’s Cuidad de Futbol from Sept. 5-17.

Head coach Wilmer Cabrera will lead 24 players in friendlies against youth teams from Real Madrid and Rayo Vallecano, as well as two matches against Spain’s U-17 MNT on Sept. 14 and Sept. 16 before returning to Bradenton, Fla.

During the trip, the team will gain valuable international experience as it moves toward the 2011 CONCACAF U-17 Championship, which will be held in Jamaica from Feb. 12-28.
