U.S. MNT Hosting Pep Rally on March 21 at Paramount Theatre in Downtown Denver

Admittance Free for All Fans as Excitement Builds for Crucial March 22 World Cup Qualifier against Costa Rica at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park

CHICAGO (March 15, 2013) – As part of the engaging events surrounding the U.S. Men’s National Team’s important FIFA World Cup Qualifying match against Costa Rica, the team will hold a pep rally with supporters on March 21 at the Paramount Theatre in downtown Denver.

The pep rally will feature U.S. MNT head coach Jurgen Klinsmann and select members of the team who will be on hand to interact with supporters. The event will also include a performance by Brad Corrigan from Dispatch with special guests and an appearance by two-time World Cup veteran, National Soccer Hall of Famer and former Colorado Rapids great Marcelo Balboa.

The event kicks off at 8 p.m. MT. Doors open for VIP and Supporters Club members beginning at 7 p.m. and doors open for all other attendees at 7:30 p.m.

Admittance is free for all fans, but space is limited as pep rally admission is on a first-come, first-served basis.

“Having huge support from our fans is a critical part of winning at home in World Cup qualifying,” said U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann. “The game sold out in one hour, so we know it’s going to be a great atmosphere in the stadium. We wanted the chance to spend time with the fans and really get everyone excited about the match.”

The Paramount Theatre is located at 1621 Glenarm Place in Denver. The day after the pep rally, the U.S. MNT faces Costa Rica in a crucial FIFA World Cup qualifying match on March 22 at sold-out Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo.

Kick off for the first MNT game in Denver since 2008 is set for 8 p.m. MT and will be broadcast live on ESPN, WatchESPN and UniMas. Fans can follow the match on ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker and via Twitter @ussoccer.

In addition to the pep rally, several other fan activities will surround the USA-Costa Rica qualifier. A pre-game tailgate starts at 5:30 p.m. on game day, with three of Denver’s finest chefs preparing fabulous food for supporters. The tailgate will include a giant video screen so they can experience the thrills of the match. Fans can purchase tickets for the tailgate on game day at the stadium box office (U.S. Soccer Official Tailgate).

The game itself will include the anticipated debut of the new Nike centennial kit, celebrating the 100-year anniversary of U.S. Soccer. Along with the newly-clad MNT players, all fans in attendance will receive a free, special edition game-specific scarf to show their colors during the match.

Fans who have purchased a U.S. Soccer Travel Package or Ultimate Fan ticket can take part in a special ESPN “Chalk Talk” luncheon where ESPN commentators will be joined by World Cup veterans Jeff Agoos and Marcelo Balboa to share their insight and analysis as well as memories from their World Cup experiences. They will also field fan questions and offer their predictions for the USA-Costa Rica match.

Licensed coaches can purchase a U.S. Soccer Centennial Coaching Symposium package that includes two days of professional educational presentations and discussions, guest presenters, match ticket, pre-game reception, game-day parking pass, a U.S. Soccer gift and a 100th anniversary certificate of attendance.
