CHICAGO (April 19, 2007) – U.S. Soccer has confirmed the details for the final three games of the U.S. Women’s National Team’s six-game Send-Off Series to be played across the country this summer as the team prepares for the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup in China.

The U.S. will face Japan in San Jose, Calif., on July 28 at 10 p.m. ET at Spartan Stadium, New Zealand in Chicago on Aug. 12 at 1 p.m. ET at Soldier Field, and finally Finland in Los Angeles on Aug. 25 at The Home Depot Center in the final match before the team heads to China. The evening kickoff time for the final Send-Off Series game will be announced at a later date.

In previously announced matches, the U.S. takes on China in Cleveland on June 16, Brazil in East Rutherford, N.J., on June 23, and Norway in East Hartford, Conn., on July 14.

“U.S. Soccer has put together an excellent series of matches for us leading into the Women’s World Cup,” U.S. WNT head coach Greg Ryan said. “We’ll get to see some teams that will be in China in September, it will give the players a chance to play games at home after so many games abroad recently, and it will give fans across the United States the chance to see the team and cheer them on before we embark on the great challenge of trying to win the Women’s World Cup.”

Five of the USA’s six opponents, with the exception of Finland, will be participating in the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be held in five Chinese cities from Sept. 10-30. Four of the countries have qualified for every Women’s World Cup. The USA will play some of the world’s top-ranked teams on the Send-Off Series, with Norway leading the way with a No. 3 ranking, followed by Brazil at No. 8 and Japan at No. 9.

Ticket information for all six games is available at ussoccer.com or by calling local Ticketmaster outlets or the respective stadium’s box offices. Tickets for the first two matches at Cleveland Browns Stadium and Giants Stadium are on sale now, and tickets for the match at Rentschler Field in Hartford go on sale to the general public on Thursday, April 19, at ussoccer.com and the Hartford Civic Center Box Office.

Tickets for the games at San Jose (Spartan Stadium), Chicago (Soldier Field) and Los Angeles (Home Depot Center) will go on sale to the public beginning Thursday, April 26, at ussoccer.com and via local Ticketmaster outlets. There will be a one day presale for VISA card holders on Wednesday, April 25, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. local time in each market. VISA, the preferred payment card of U.S. Soccer, is the only payment method accepted for this advance sale opportunity.

Group tickets for 15 or more people for any of the Send-Off Series matches are available by calling 312-528-1290 or downloading a group order form at ussoccer.com.

ESPN2 will broadcast the New York, Hartford, Chicago and Los Angeles matches live, while ussoccer.com’s MatchACCESS will provide live streaming video of the matches in Cleveland and San Jose. Fans can also follow stats and commentary online with ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker.

The 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup draw is taking place on April 22 in Wuhan, China, at which time the USA will find out its first-round schedule and venues for the fifth FIFA Women’s World Cup. The U.S. is coming off a 5-0 victory vs. Mexico in the first domestic match of 2007 on April 14, and after the draw the team will return to Residency Training Camp in Carson, Calif., and play Canada on May 12 in Frisco, Texas (tickets), before kicking off the Send-Off Series one month later.
