U.S. UNDER-20s GO 2-0-1 IN ODP EVENT: Forward Jamie Watson led the U-20s to a 1-1 draw with Region I on Monday (Jan. 5) with a goal assisted by Octavio Pino. Yesterday at the three-day ODP Interregional Event, the U.S. toppled Region II 2-1 behind a goal and assist from Freddy Adu. In the 25th minute, Adu found Chad Barrett for the first goal of the game, then got a goal of his own after a service from Arturo Alvarez. On Jan. 3, defender Chris Gemani provided an early lead in the 4th minute until the 47th minute when Region IV found the equalizer, but Watson gave the U.S. the win in the 58th minute with an unassisted strike. The team will have two days of training before meeting the U.S. U-18 Men’s National Team on Jan. 8. U.S. U-20 head coach Thomas Rongen has called in 23 players for this event.

The U.S. U-19s will come together for their next training camp in Carson at the end of January and will make what has become their annual trek to Mexico for several games in February.
