U.S. Soccer's CoachesNet Prepares for Argentina Trip
Juan SebastiÃ¡n VerÃ³n, Boca Juniors Head Coach Alfio Basile and U-17 and U-20 National Team Coaches Headline Trip
CHICAGO (Jan. 13, 2010) â€“ U.S. Soccerâ€™s CoachesNet is set to embark on a return visit to Buenos Aires, Argentina next month. Last March, 45 coaches joined the Coaching Education Department to study and learn from the Argentina Football Association (AFA) and some of the top coaches in the country. Coaches this year will spend a majority of their time studying professional clubs Boca Juniors and Estudiantes de La Plata and their day-to-day training and youth development philosophies. The unique trip will allow coaches the opportunity to study and learn from two very successful international clubs.

The week in Argentina will be filled with terrific educational opportunities from listening to Juan SebastiÃ¡n VerÃ³n on his many career accomplishments to speaking with Boca Juniors head coach and former World Cup head coach Alfio Basile. Coaches will also experience a professional match at the famous La Bombonera stadium. In addition to the Boca Juniors home game vs. Athetico de Tucuman, coaches will also attend one other first division professional match.
JosÃ© Luis Brown, current Argentinean U-17 Menâ€™s National Team head coach and 1986 World Cup Champion will give a lecture on Friday, Feb. 12 on his current role as a national team coach and share his experiences on his well-decorated career and the 1986 World Cup in Mexico. Argentinaâ€™s U-20 Menâ€™s National Team head coach and 1986 World Cup Champion Sergio Batista will present on Sunday, Feb. 14 his role and responsibilities with the national team and share his player development philosophy and personal experiences as a professional player.
Q&A sessions have been scheduled with Boca Juniors head coach and former World Cup head coach Alfio Basile and Estudiantes de La Plata head coach Alejandro Sabella. Both successful coaches will offer insight on their coaching career paths, player development, player management and much more.
Estudiantes de La Plata captain and current Argentina National Team player Juan SebastiÃ¡n VerÃ³n will address the group on Mon., Feb. 15, on his many career accomplishments and how his current club continues to develop professional players through their youth system.

The days spent in Buenos Aires will center on Boca Juniors, where coaches will participate in lectures with Coach Basile and his staff and observe youth and professional matches. Access will allow coaches an insiderâ€™s perspective into one of the most successful clubs in the world.
Upon departing Buenos Aries, coaches will head south to the city of La Plata where they will observe professional club Estudiantes. During the time with Estudiantes, coaches will focus on how their teams prepare, train and play from their youth to professionals sides. Coaches will attend training sessions, take part in lectures and have access to the club and coaching staff.
