BERGAMO, Italy (Nov. 19, 2013) – The U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team scored an impressive 4-1 victory against Atalanta Primavera to wrap up its international training camp in Verona, Italy.
Albuquerque, N.M., native Ben Spencer, who scored the USA’s lone goal in a 4-1 loss to Hellas Verona Primavera six days prior, led the way for the U.S. with two goals and an assist. Romain Gall was the beneficiary of Spencer’s assist and set up a goal himself, assisting on a Rubio Rubin goal.
The U.S. scored four consecutive goals in a 33-minute span in the first half to open an insurmountable lead. Quick strikes from Spencer in the 3 rd minute and Rubin in the 8th got the U.S. off to a flying start. Spencer added his second off an assist from Marco Delgado in the 24th minute before setting up Gall in the 36th to round out the scoring for the U.S.
The hosts grabbed a consolation through Parigi shortly after the U.S. made a goalkeeper change in the 41st minute, bringing on Ethan Horvath for starter Santiago Castano.
