Development Academy Performers of the Week for the Week Beginning Oct. 26
U-15/16 Performer of the Week: Jonathan Top
Club: FC Dallas
Jonathan Top scored a total of six goals during match-ups against two Houston-based Academy teams this past weekend. Four goals came during the 5-1 thrashing of the U-15/16 Houston Dynamo team while two more goals came during the 4-2 win against Texas Rush AJ Auxerre. The outstanding performances came at a good time; FC Dallas is pacing first place in the Texas Division with an average of 2.29 goals per game and a 5-1-1 record. The team will finish out a busy November with divisional games and then attend the Winter Showcase before breaking until March.
U-17/18 Performer of the Week: Jack Ryan
Club: Crossfire Premier
Crossfire Premier took a win and a tie against divisional opponents, California Development Academy (CDA) and Cal Odyssey, with much thanks to central defender, Jack Ryan. Strong defending became important, as each of the rivals were averaging almost 2 goals per game with almost one-third of their season completed. Ryan played a pivotal role in securing the tie against Cal Odyssey on Sunday and held CDA to only two goals on Saturday. The results will move Crossfire ahead in the standings into third place in the Northwest Division. The squad will play host to the a handful of other divisional games throughout November and then travel to the Winter Showcase to encounter non-conference opponents: Kansas City Wizards, Baltimore Bays Chelsea and Vardar.
Academy Referee of the Week: Matthew Buckman
