CHICAGO (June 9, 2010) - U.S. Soccer is pleased to announce that the Official U.S. Soccer Bar of the Month for June 2010 is an exciting new establishment set up in Johannesburg to support the throngs of soccer-mad supporters traveling to South Africa from around the world. The Melrose Emporium, located in the trendy Melrose Arch Precinct of Johannesburg, will be a central hub for U.S. Soccer fans following the team in South Africa.
The newly-constructed Melrose Emporium is located in the main Piazza in Melrose Arch. The lower deck and outdoor space of the two-story facility features a bar, lounge, and giant plasma screens that will be broadcasting every action-packed moment of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The upper deck provides space for private group events.
Ideally placed in the heart of Johannesburg’s business centre and close to all major media houses as well as main sport stadiums, Melrose Arch is South Africa’s best and most talked about New Urbanist precinct – awarded Johannesburg favorite “Place to See and Be Seen” over the past seven years. With retail stores, restaurants and hotels, as well as upmarket lifestyle apartments, Melrose Arch captures the imagination, invades the senses and invites you into a new world that evokes the renaissance spirit of the world’s great squares and piazzas. Its people-friendly meeting places, amazing buildings and curved streets create a vibrant atmosphere that is out of this world!
From June until July 2010, Melrose Arch will celebrate ‘non-stop football city celebration’, and bring local and international fans together to create an unforgettable 2010 experience for everyone at Melrose Arch.
