U.S. Soccer Centennial Coaching Symposium Series Continues in Columbus and Kansas City

“A” Licensed Coaches Can Earn Two CEUs Per Symposium;
Coaches Will Attend a U.S. MNT Training Session and U.S. MNT Match

CHICAGO (July 25, 2013) – In commemoration of its 100th anniversary, U.S. Soccer has embarked on a year-long celebration honoring its history and setting a path for the future of the sport throughout 2013. In connection with the Centennial, U.S. Soccer’s Coaching Education Department is holding Coaching Symposia around every home U.S. Men’s National Team FIFA World Cup Qualifier. The Symposium Series will give attendees an “insider’s” view of 2014 World Cup qualifying.

The first symposium of the series was held March 21-22 in Denver, Colo., around the U.S. MNT match versus Costa Rica. During the event, participants interacted with former MNT World Cup players Jeff Agoos and Steve Trittschuh and National Instructor Rene Miramontes. The group had access to a closed-door MNT training session, spoke with head coach Jurgen Klinsmann and received tickets to the sold-out qualifying game. Similar events were held this past June in Seattle, Wash., and Sandy, Utah.

Coaches will have similar educational opportunities at the next two symposia held around the U.S. MNT’s September and October World Cup Qualifying matches. Registration for each symposium includes two days of professional educational presentations and discussions, guest presenters, exclusive training session access, match ticket, pre-game reception, game-day parking pass and a U.S. Soccer gift. Registration is open to all U.S. Soccer-licensed coaches.

Special hotel pricing has been secured for each two-day symposium. Additional details will be shared with registered coaches.

U.S. Soccer “A” licensed coaches can earn two (2) “Continuing Education Units” for attending a symposium and completing a written technical component related to the match.
