U.S. Futsal's Keith Tozer Named MISL Coach of Year

His Milwaukee Wave is competing this weekend in the 2012 MISL Championship Series.

CHICAGO (March 16, 2012) - U.S. Futsal National Team head coach Keith Tozer was named the Major Indoor Soccer League Coach of the Year on Thursday as his Milwaukee Wave team competes this weekend in the 2012 MISL Championship Series against the Baltimore Blast.

Tozer led the Wave to an 18-6 regular-season record and first place in the Central Division. His team had the league’s best offense (nearly 15 points per game) and the best home record (10-2 at the U.S. Cellular Arena). Earlier this year, Tozer earned his 700th career indoor victory .

Milwaukee’s first leg of the MISL Championship Series against the Blast kicks off Friday night at Baltimore’s 1st Mariner Arena, then shifts to Milwaukee on Sunday for the second leg and possibly a series-deciding mini-game afterward. The Wave is the defending MISL champion.

Following the MISL season, Tozer puts his focus back on the U.S. Futsal squad as it competes in the CONCACAF Futsal Championships from July 2-8 in Guatemala, with the hopes of qualifying for the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup from Nov. 2-18 in Thailand.

U.S. Futsal will be announcing an upcoming camp in the near future.
