The USSF Referee Department, in conjunction with the Super F Champions Cup, is holding a U.S. Soccer Federation Futsal Referee Training Event in Kansas City on February 13-15, 2009.
This event is open to all interested State Administrators, Instructors, Assessors and Referees who wish to attend. With the current explosive growth and development of the futsal game within the U.S., this event should be of interest to all states that have futsal leagues, or anticipate its growth within their state program. Staff for this event include:

Jason Krnac – FIFA Futsal Referee 2009 and FIFA Futsal World Cup Referee 2008
Shane Butler – FIFA Futsal Referee 2009
Jeff Kollmeyer – National Instructor Trainer

The local hosting organization, The Super F League, is assisting in coordinating transportation of assigned game officials to the different venues. Primary hotel & Friday night meeting location is the Courtyard by Marriott located at 17250 Midland Dr, Shawnee, Kansas 66217. Secondary hotel is at the Hampton Inn located at 16555 Midland Dr, Shawnee, Kansas 66217. Use this link for all tournament information:

Who should attend this clinic? For referees who are interested in the Futsal career path, this would be a good opportunity to gain valuable experience and meet the requirements for certification or recertification. Referee Administrators, Assessors and Instructors who expect to prepare referees in their state to officiate futsal games will find this an exceptional opportunity to be brought up to date on law application and training materials for futsal clinics.

In addition to clinic presentations and field sessions, attending futsal referees that give the assignor sufficient notice can be assigned to work futsal games during this large tournament. Immediate post-game feedback and mentoring will be provided by National Staff.

All interested persons should plan on arriving Friday afternoon. A clinic will begin at 6 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott. Current updated and revised Futsal training materials will be presented at that time, as will an overview of the weekend's schedule. If travel plans allow it, attending referees may stay and be scheduled to work through the tournament finals Sunday afternoon. Air Travel plans should include arrival at KCI airport. All hotels are located directly down I-435 from the airport on the Kansas side.

Attendees will be eligible to register as USSF Futsal/Indoor Referees at the completion of the course Friday night.

Deadline for application is February 1, 2008.
