CHICAGO (June 2, 2013) – The U.S. Men’s National Team will wear game jerseys and pre-game warm-ups embellished with a Boston Strong logo for the team’s Centennial Celebration Match against Germany today at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C., (2:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2, WatchESPN and UniMas).

The Women’s National Team will feature the logo for its match in the Boston area on June 15 when the USA takes on Korea Republic at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. (7 p.m. ET on ESPN3).

With the support of the each respective Players’ Association, all of the jerseys and warm-up tops will be signed by the players of the respective U.S. teams and auctioned off on ussoccer.com to benefit The Victim Relief Fund of The One Fund Boston. All proceeds will assist the families of the victims who were killed and the victims who were most seriously affected as a result of the tragic events during the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013 and related events on April 18 and 19.

The MNT auction will start on Tuesday, June 11, while the WNT auction will begin a week later on Tuesday, June 18. U.S. Soccer will announce more information about the two auctions in the coming weeks.

In May of 2011, the U.S. Soccer held a similar auction of game-worn jerseys from U.S. Women’s National Team players who faced Japan on May 14 at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. The auction raised a total of $20,597 with the proceeds from the fundraiser going to the American Red Cross to benefit tsunami relief efforts in Japan.
