Referees Set for Matchday Seven in World Cup Qualifying


CHICAGO (Tuesday, July 31, 2001) - The officiating teams have been assigned for the seventh set of matches in the Final Round of CONCACAF Qualifying for the 2002 FIFA World Cup, to be played September 1 & 2.

Mauricio Navarro of Canada will run the center for the USA-Honduras match in Washington, D.C. on September 1, while two groups of referees from Confederation Africaine de Football will work the other matches: Gamal Ghandour of Egypt in the center for the Jamaica-Mexico match, and Tajaddin Fares of Syria for the Trinidad & Tobago-Costa Rica contest.
