U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team to Hold Foreign Training Camp in Puebla, Mexico, From Jan. 14-22

U.S. U-20 MNT Will Play Panama Twice During Camp;Training Camp Takes Place in Same City as 2013 CONCACAF U-20 Championship

CHICAGO (Jan. 1, 2012) – The U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team will hold a week-long foreign training camp from Jan. 14-22 in Puebla, Mexico. During the camp, the U.S. will face Panama two times, on Jan. 19 and Jan. 21. The time and location for the matches have yet to be determined.

U.S. U-20 MNT head coach Tab Ramos will name a roster at a later date.

Puebla, Mexico, is the site of the upcoming 2013 CONCACAF U-20 Championship, which will be held Feb. 18-March 3. In November, the U.S. U-20 MNT was drawn into Group A of the 2013 CONCACAF U-20 Championship alongside Costa Rica and Haiti.

The U.S. will play all of its group matches at Estadio Olímpico C.U. in Puebla. In the group stage, each team will play the other teams once, with the top two teams from each of the four groups advancing to the quarterfinals to be played Feb. 26 and 27. The semifinals are scheduled for March 1, with the final and third-place game slated for March 3. All four semifinalists qualify for the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup from June 21-July 13, 2013, in Turkey.
