Academy Players of the Week for the Week of March 22
Club: Baltimore Bays Chelsea
Four goals this weekend helped Michael Gamble take over as leading goal scorer for the U-15/16 Baltimore Bays Chelsea team with six on the season. Strong offensive efforts have seen Gamble amass a three game scoring streak. With almost all his goals coming in the first or early second half, the striker has proven to be an early scoring threat.
He will look for more opportunities this weekend when his club visits FC Greater Boston and New England Revolution before coming back to divisional play in April.
Club: Santa Cruz County Breakers
With this week's award, Christian Diaz becomes the first two-time winner of Academy Player of the Week honors. His two goals against Real So Cal and Arsenal helped snap the team’s three game skid and garner four valuable points on the weekend. The Breakers have been on an offensive tear in the month of March, scoring 12 goals in five games.
The team takes on LAFC Chelsea this weekend and with an eye on finishing divisional play on a high note.
