Academy Players of the Week for the Week of May 24

Robbie Kristo
Club: St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri
Position: Forward

As the second half began against Chicago Magic, Robbie Kristo entered the match as a substitute with his side down 2-0. By the 73rd minute, Kristo had scored his third goal of the game to complete his hat trick and secure an important victory for St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri. A player with size and strength that plays well with his back to goal, Kristo tends to surprise opponents with his composure and skill on the ball.

The victory came at a crucial moment with four games remaining in the season for St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri. In addition to their three out of conference contests at the Spring Showcase, the squad plays their local derby match to close out the season on June 5 against St. Louis Scott Gallagher Metro. They are now in the race for a wild card berth, which increases the importance in their last stretch of games during the 2009-2010 regular season.

Will Trapp
Club: Crew Soccer Academy
Position: Center Midfield

Will Trapp’s performance in the weekend’s Ohio derby match-up with Internationals was a great opportunity to display his talent. Eligible to play as a U-15/16 player, Trapp played up and age division and was the best player on the field. Traditionally known for his creative passing and ability to stretch defenses with threatening through balls, he has also developed a knack for controlling the tempo of the game. Trapp’s inclusion in such an important match this season, played against the Great Lakes Division’s first place team, was a testament to his ability to influence the game at a high level.

With the Spring Showcase looming, Crew Soccer Academy will have an opportunity to prepare for the Playoffs as their victory over the weekend solidified their position for an automatic berth.
