U.S. U-15 Girls National Team to Compete in Stanford's Kicks Against Breast Cancer Tournament
CHICAGO (April 7, 2008) - The U.S. Under-15 Girl’s National Team will play five matches against college teams during a week-long training camp in Palo Alto, Calif., which includes two mini-games and an 80-minute match at the 2008 Stanford University Kicks Against Breast Cancer Tournament. All the matches will all be played on the Stanford campus.
The training camp will run from April 14-20 and feature full games against Stanford on Wednesday, April 16, and against the University of Oregon on Friday, April 18. The USA will then play three shortened matches in the tournament on Saturday April 19, facing the University of Washington at 9 a.m., followed by the University of San Francisco at 10:15 a.m. Both of those games in Group A will last just 25 minutes.
The placement matches will take place in the afternoon, featuring 80-minute games, with the group winners playing for first place, the second place finishers playing for third place and the third-place group finishers playing for fifth place. U.S. head coach Tad Bobak will bring 18 players to the training camp and tournament, all of whom were born in 1993.
